"Police Support Agency in accordance with the law will conduct joint tender procedures for procurement of network and computer equipment"

On 27.03.2014, the signing of the implementation of the tender procedure of joint procurement of network and computer equipment (hardware and software) for police authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina was successfully realized. This agreement was drafted by the Police Support Agency and offered for signature to the directors of the police authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The signatories to the agreement are the Director of the State Agency for Investigation and Protection SIPA Goran Zubac, director of the Border Police of BiH Vinko Dumančić, Director of Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH Himzo Selimovic and Jasmin Pilica, Director of Police Support Agency.

In accordance with Law on Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies and Agencies to support the police structure of BiH, tender procedures of public procurements for this specific equipment will be implemented by the Police Support Agency, on the basis of the annual plan of needs of police authorities, as defined and specified by the Agreement.

This kind of process of conducting joint procurement will enable the standardization of IT equipment for police authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and generate savings in the budget.

Significant savings whic can be achieved while reducing the risk of corruption should not be specially elaborated, as the joint procurement for various police agencies is already well-established, good practice in many European countries. Rough estimates show that savings between 10-30% can be achieved, depending on the amount of equipment to be procured.
