About Us

The Police Support Agency, an institution established to perform logistical tasks for the security system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is an administrative organization within the Ministry of Security of BiH with operational autonomy.

The headquarters of the Agency are located in Sarajevo, at the address Aleja Bosne Srebrene bb.

Focus of the Agency’s activities is on analyzing and improving the conditions and environment in which the police bodies of BiH work. This particularly refers to: raising the standard of equipment used by police officers in BiH by procuring high-quality weapons and other equipment, increasing the efficiency and timeliness of police bodies by creating a legal framework adjusted to current EU standards, and introduction of the latest IT technologies into the work of the police which will enable coherence between police bodies and execution of police affairs in accordance with the standards of the most developed countries of the world.

The employees of the Agency perform constant activities with the purpose of bringing the BiH security system to the level required for accession to the European Union.

The Police Support Agency is responsible for:

a) keeping a central record of data of employees in the police bodies of BiH;

b) consolidation of data on required staff in BiH police bodies; c) preparation of analyzes, reports and reviews within the competence of the Police Support Agency, for the needs of state bodies;

d) participation in the development and monitoring of the application of laws and other regulations related to the police bodies of BiH and providing expert opinions related to the application of these regulations;

e) providing professional assistance to the BiH police authorities in connection with disputes before the competent courts and other authorities, if such authorities request such assistance;

f) conducting internal control over the spending of budget funds; g) keeping legally prescribed financial and material records for the Police Support Agency;

h) proposing to the Council of Ministers of BiH, with the consent of the police bodies, appropriate acts determining standardized equipment for the police bodies of BiH;

i) performing and conducting the procurement procedure for the needs of the Police Support Agency;

j) conducting a tender procedure for certain equipment for BiH police bodies;

k) monitoring of new information and communication technologies and possibilities of their application;

l) participation in the development of application and system programs for various databases and database maintenance.
