Reaction of the Director of the Agency for Police Support of BiH, Enver Hadžiahmetović, to the Article Published on the Fokus Portal



In order to provide truthful and complete information to the public regarding the claims made in the article published on Fokus.ba titled "An Employee with a High School Diploma Appointed to a Position Requiring a College Degree?!" on June 1, 2024, the Agency for Police Support wishes to issue a rebuttal to the mentioned claims.

Namely, the article contains incorrect and malicious statements: "State auditors have identified certain irregularities in the Agency for Police Support of BiH, managed by Enver Hadžiahmetović, a cadre of the Narod and Pravda (NIP) party," thus demonstrating a lack of adherence to journalistic ethics and the principle of hearing both sides.

For the sake of complete and timely public information, the Agency for Police Support emphasizes that the article addresses a Decision issued on January 26, 2023, by the previous head of this institution, Husein Nanić (SDA). Director Enver Hadžiahmetović assumed this position on July 19, 2023.

Specifically, for an employee who is in a permanent position requiring a high school diploma, a Decision was made to allow them, in addition to their regular duties and without additional compensation, to perform tasks of a civil servant to gain experience in a role requiring a higher education degree. The Office for Audit of BiH raised concerns about this in its Report following the final audit of the Agency for Police Support for 2023.

This Decision was made by the previous director of the Agency for Police Support, Husein Nanić, despite being aware that the Annual Audit Report on Main Findings and Recommendations for 2021 by the Office for Audit of Institutions of BiH had raised concerns about such actions. Prior to this Decision, Husein Nanić had similarly signed two other such decisions (for two employees).
