Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued awards and commendations to the heads of security agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina for outstanding contribution in strengthening the citizens' security and efficient operation and organizational skills.
At a ceremony held today at the Ministry of Security, Deputy Minister Mladen Ćavar awarded the Gold Police Badge to the Director of the Border Police Zoran Galic, Director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mirsad Vilić and the Head of Police of Brcko District of BiH Goran Lujić for special contribution to the protection and preservation of human life and property.
Silver Police Badge for special contribution to efficient performance of duties and tasks, has been awarded to the Deputy Directors of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mile Juric and Uros Pena and Deputy Director of the Border Police Zijad Srabović.
Commendations for demonstrated exceptional leadership skills in command and control have been given to the Director of the Service for Foreigners' Affairs Dragan Mektic, Director of the Agency for police support Jasmin Pilica and Director of the Agency for education and professional development of staff Branko Vukoja. Commendation also received the Director of the Intelligence - Security Agency, Almir Dzuvo, last week.
Ćavar pointed out that today we are proud to say that these agencies have full confidence of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as of many international partners.
"Through coordinated efforts between agencies in BiH and cooperation with police agencies in the region and the world, numerous actions have been successfully carried out and contributed greatly in the fight against all security challenges and strengthening security in general. Thanks to the dedicated work and expertise and professionalism of the management staff of these agencies, our country is regularly recognized at international meetings as an active and reliable partner in cutting the organized criminal groups, border security, fight against illegal migration, fight against terrorism and increasingly active international cooperation, "said Ćavar.
The expertise and professionalism of the management of these agencies guarantee that this trend will continue in the future within the agencies, but also through their mutual cooperation, in order to achieve a common goal - greater security of the citizens of BiH, the region and Europe.
"As a positive example, the security sector should remain a leader on the path to European integration. Also, in the latest European Commission Report on the progress of BiH, the security sector was identified as the only bright spot. We will continue to adopt the EU standards because we belong there and it remains our top priority, "concluded Ćavar.
On behalf of all awarded addressed the Director Mektic who thanked for the received awards, noting that they represent great honour but also an obligation to continue to work effectively to the benefit of all citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
